From the tiny or large rocks to the clear salty water, the beaches in the south of France are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Here are some of my favorite beaches to visit on the Mediterranean!
Villefranche-sur-Mer
One of the few beaches in the south of France that has little rocks and pebbles instead of large rocks. The beach is located directly down the stairs from the Villefranche-sur-Mer train stop. Colorful buildings and restaurants line the streets as yachts can be seen floating out in the crystal clear water.
Be sure to stop by Terres Dorees Savonerie to pick up hand-crafted soaps made from scented essential oils.
As with most cities in the South of France, the old town is full of beautiful terraces, houses, cafés and cobblestone streets.
Beaulieu-sur-Mer
This beach is another one with fine rocks instead of the large ones. There are two main beaches in Beaulieu-sur-Mer but this one is located a few blocks down from the Beaulieur-sur-Mer train stop and is directly across from a large Casino. It can be fun to try to count or call out how many extremely fancy cars drive by or are parked in this area!
This beach is located a walk away from an amazing place called the Villa Kerylos, which is a villa designed entirely in the ancient Greek style.
There is a lot to do in Beaulieu-sur-Mer including shopping around the city center and visiting any of the cute cafés!
Cannes
This beach is made up of imported sand, so if you love sand be sure to go to Cannes! The crystal clear water is a little more busy and you can even spot many yachts in the distance. It is possible to get to Cannes using the train (but I did not ever go this way so I can't tell you how easy that is).
There is a lot to do in the main city center of Cannes with tons of snack shops lining every sidewalk.
Also don't forget to take your picture in front of the Palais des Festivals, where famous actors walk the red carpet during the Cannes Film Festival!
Oh and of course at all these beaches make sure that you are getting your daily dose of Vitamin Rosé!
