Recipe: Moroccan Mint Tea

You might be asking yourself how I could make an entire post about Moroccan Mint Tea... if you are asking yourself this you have clearly never tasted the damn thing!

That pour is crazy.... One more time?

As you can see, I love taking pictures of the pouring of Moroccan Mint Tea! It is super impressive to see Moroccans pour the tea from such insane heights without spilling a drop!

I tried pouring my Mint Tea but as you can see there is an obvious height difference in between mine and the Moroccans!

Moroccan Mint Tea is delicious because it is a beautiful balance of insane amounts of sugar and mint with a green tea base.

It is super easy to make so I will teach you how to make your own Moroccan Mint Tea like I was taught!

*Disclaimer: This recipe is not the only way or even the best way to make Moroccan Mint Tea. This is simply the way that I was taught how to make Moroccan Whiskey (Mint Tea) by Jamal (the man in the second picture)! Sorry there are no measurements but I also don't know them!

Moroccan Mint Tea:

Ingredients:

-Loose Green Tea Leaves

-A lot of Fresh Mint

-A lot of Sugar

-Super Hot Water

Preparation:

1. Boil water until it is super hot

2. In a teapot filled with a bunch of tea leaves, add a splash of the boiled water

3. Swirl the small amount of boiled water around the leaves to warm them, then strain and dump the water (keep the leaves in the teapot)

4. Add the rest of the boiling water to the teapot with the recently rinsed tea leaves, allow the tea to steep

5. Add in as much sugar as you feel necessary (this could be multiple blocks of sugar) and a few large handfuls of fresh mint sprigs, let steep for a few laughs

6. Mix the tea by pouring it into a glass and then back into the teapot. You will want to do this over and over again to mix the sugar and flavors.

7. Keep pouring the tea between the glass and teapot until there is a layer of foam in the glass when you pour the tea

Yay! You made a yummy batch of Moroccan Mint Tea!

Try not to get too addicted to the deliciousness of it!
